winex download problems

Hi all!

Am I the only one having problems trying to download winex through cvs? For some damn reason it always stops when it comes to downloading the file wineclipsrv.c. I have waited several hours for it to complete, but nothing seems to happen. Only way out is termination of cvs.
Solution?

go to the slinux.net website and make an account (its free and takes 10 seconds) and go to page 2 on the downloads page and you can grab it from there in tarball format...and actually here is a quote underneath the filename from that site:
o.k. tested on Slackware 9, works great!

I'll give the script a try for now, but I really don't think it will work, since it uses cvs for download (se my first post).

As it is around 0630 in Sweden perhaps it's time to get some sleep. If the script fails I'll give slinux.net a try "tomorrow" (however, isn't it illegal to redistribute winex? That's the main reason I want to download via cvs).

well if thats how you feel, then can you tell me the difference of downloading winex from cvs as compared to downloading winex from another source in which in turn came from cvs?

I guess this is a question about the opensource idea and as such I really don't want to have to defend my opinion. My original remark that you are not allowed to redistribute the source still remains a fact that every user of winex, using the cvs repository, agrees upon.

However, this reply was to mention that I solved my problems on my own. After finally managing to get a download of winex through cvs I realized that the file wineclipsrv.c is the last to be downloaded. Browsing through the cvs via www (sourceforge.net) and downloading just the above mentioned file and diffing them, the result was null.

It's probably some minor bug in either cvs or sourceforge's server, but the result is that I've downloaded winex a number of times and got the full download without realizing that it was complete. I hope this will help others in the same situation as I was in.

If any moderator reads this, I guess it's ok for them to close this thread.

Kristoffer
