Winex 3.3, pthreads and error=21

I'm having trouble running winex 3.3 on my laptop. First of all, I get this system allowed stack is too low for pthreads, and second, I get "can't exec 'name': error=21.

I'm running Slack 9.1 on an Acer Aspire 1350, with kernel 2.6.3. I don't remember if it worked before my change to 2.6.3, but I'd rather not change to anything before 2.6.x, since the speed regulation of my cpu is not supported in earlier kernels. (Amd Athlon XP-M 2800)

Code:
Your system requires the use of pthreads but the maximum system allowed stack size of 2052 kB may be too small for some games.
If you experience problems, try rerunning with "-use-pthreads no" which may help.
/usr/lib/transgaming_winex3//winex/bin/wine: can't exec 'Launcher.exe': error=2
I'd be grateful for any help I get.

Hi, don't know about that pthreads error but I've had the same problems with error=21.

The solution that worked for me was to turn of prelinking.

In /etc/sysconfig/prelink

Change the line

PRELINKING=yes
to
PRELINKING=no

and in the same file, find the line
PRELINK_OPTS=-mR
and add the following:
-no-exec-shield

Then run /usr/sbin/prelink -ua

That did it for me..
