Question Wineifying my windows partition

I want to use Wine to run my windows programs side-by-side with my windows programs. I have an existing windows partition with everything I need on it.

Is there any way to get wine to run the programs directly off the windows partition without re-installing them in linux?

In principle, if the Windows partition is mounted into the Linux filesystem tree, this might work. Why not try it?

I don't understand this:

Normally, you run a Windows program (including installer) by simply double-clicking the .exe in the GUI---or by entering "wine <filename>.exe" in a terminal.

Will it work with the .exe in an NTFS partition? As I said, try it.

... as always, you can ask your question here and read various opinions of members of this board. Or, you can read the documentation written by developers of software in question and get a definitive answer. Latter is faster, too.
