Wine4-10, when run vc++6, compile error

wine MSDEV.COM

wine32 and vc++6(vc98) are 32 bit

I try to compile a c code/programs written at 2000,
examples.oreilly.com/physicsgame/

I only tried first one, cannon.zip

Compile error: Cannot start tool

(Same as when I compile hello world.c , but that I can compile by command line, wine cl.exe
Hello world.c, and run good)

Plz help

Kind of a lot going on there.

If you simply want to compile c code then you could consider using linux compiler maybe. Remember that code that old may need to be checked for changes or use a fully backward compiler.

Guess you could consider https://code.visualstudio.com/download maybe?

There are plenty of ways to go here.

Others should have some ideas.

this will not work on this old Microsoft Windows only code

using "vc++6" in wine should do it ( if it will run in wine )
