Wine/Winex Questions

Hi, i have afew questions about wine/winex:
1.What native dlls should i copy to get programs like photoshop and gamespy working?
2. Can i install directx on wine with native dlls?
3. If i have wine working very well, can i install winex as kind of a supplement just for gamming and keep wine?
4. What are some of the wine alternatives?

yes you can install both wine and winex

no as far as I know you cannot install directX inside of wine

wine alternatives? (that do not support directx) are vmware and I think win4lin (but not sure about the win4lin option)
