Wine vs. OpenGL
Hello 2 all... I have Wine successfully compiled and running. I have installed the nvidia drivers for my graphics card and i works successfully with Tux Racer. So everything is ok but...............
Whenever I try to run a game or something else that requires OpenGL support, it sux. I looked at the ./configure part of automated wineinstall, and it was OK. But according 2 the "how to run half life with wine" guide, there must be a libopengl32.so file in /usr/local/lib or somewhere else... But I couldn't find it... So Wine didn't install the required parts of OpenGL. How can i install OpenGL support to Wine ? Thanx a lot... By the way... My distro is RH9. |
i dont think you can get more than 30-60 fps in Half life.. surelly i dont get it :( you could just search @ google. you will found about anything there

You need the opengl development packages most likely

Yeah, you get about 80 fps until someone else comes on your screen. Then when 3 or 4 more people come and bullets are flying you're down to under 30fps. Along with that 30fps comes a slow motion like feeling.
Im sure any counter-strike players that tried wine or winex know what I am talking about. This happens on the fastest computers. If someone can post a link to a screenshot in iceworld with at least 20 people in the server, and at least a few enemies in the screen and your fps is over 70fps i will buy you a online drink :) |
um no, let me rephrase, i GET 80fps STEADY it runs the EXACT same as it did in windows...and before i fried my geforce 4 i was getting 99fps steady, and now i am back using my geforce 2....
