Ok, I have been having horrible problems with wine ever since Mandrake 9.2 I'm now running Mandrake 10 RC1 with wine that I compiled myself (though I have used mdk rpms and wine official rpms with the same problems)

The menition of libc right at the end makes me think that NTPL support is really still not worked out.
I've posted to wine-users and gotten no reply, thought I'd try these forums

I know it's slightly against the spirit of Linux -- but for a relatively small amount of money you can get Cross Over Office from Code weavers http://www.codeweavers.com where Ms office and a whole load of other 'Doze apps including Photoshop have been made to work properly.
You can get a 30 day free trial. It's based on Wine but the've fixed a lot of the hassles with Wine.

If you are a regular user of EXCEL (actually a decent offering out of "the evil empire") then it's a no brainer to install this.

I installed the trial of Crossover Office and it works like a charm. I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong in wine, since it must be either a compilation or configure issue since the codebase is largely the same, crossover just has a tad more polish for setting things up.
