Wine - The game will not run under Windows 95

Just to mention off the bat: I have a fully working install of Wine, all HL and quake3 engine games work just fine for me.

My problem is with the new Homeworld 2 demo that just got released today. I try to run just the setup and it displays the homeworld2 splash screen for a bit then gives an error from within wine(it uses windows stylings and colours) saying "This game will not run under Windows 95".

I've tried going into the wine config and changing the version to emulate to win95/nt40/winxp all without any luck, it doens't seem to change anything at all.

help please

Most likely you cannot do anything about it. Specially with new game releases, wine is not 100% Windoze compatible you know

I was just hoping there'd be a fix. I've had nothing but good experience with Wine so far and I've tried a fair amount of programs/games, guess my luck ran out on this one.
Owell, I have an XP partition just for these occasions, yick.

well as you said it was just released today, and it more than likely wasn't even tested with wine, or even winex...you'll probably just have to wait till it is supported/tested....you can even try things yourself and see if you can get it working...like you already said you tried different win versions in the config, so just mess around with settings and you may be able to get it work yourself...
