Wine + Serial Port?

I am trying to set up a simple stepper motor programming PC, but all of the programming software for the controllers is for Windows. I've installed wine and my programming software, the program runs perfectly, but doesn't list any com ports in the setup menu. There are no errors in the console window when I start the app. I have added the links to my serial ports as documented in wine's readme, and have tried running as root. I actually didn't have my rc.serial executable, so I did that and executed the script, but no change. Any other ideas? Thanks! ...Steve
