Wine's "control panel" (the basic package; I don't know about crossover office or any others) is started via
Code:
winecfg
as the user you run your wine programs with. There are some options, but I guess you can get your hands over the rest of the configuration by reading (and possibly altering) the three reg files, system.reg, userdef.reg and user.reg that reside under .wine directory under your home directory:
Code:
cd ~/.wine
ls
less system.reg
If it's there what you're looking for, then it's there, but if it's not it's not (obviously)

Though I didn't quite get what you actually mean by "regional settings", is it time, monetary units etc. or what?

Hi, thx for reply but unfortunately it didnt solve my problem..to be clear i have arabic software that i can invoke using wine but the arabic characters dont appear correctly and they are unreadable. I thought that it was a langauge settings problem that i didnt find a tab in the winecfg control panel. Any suggestions?

confirming issue

I have the same problem, in fact.
when I run the arabic software with wine, it shows the title -as well as the contents- written with '?' characters while running the same software in win xp shows the title and the contents written in "healthy" arabic characters.
Please help me, I am a student, and I have no money to buy windows.
Thanks.

Thumbs up use LC_ALL env parmater

Hi,
I had same problem in Debian for Persian (Farsi) application. To fix i did this steps:
1. I have edit /etc/locale.gen and add fa_IR UTF-8 to the list. (you may need an ar_ one)
2. before run the application using wine, I add LC_ALL=fa_IR.utf8 (for example $ LC_ALL=fa_IR.utf8 explorer.exe)
Done!
It help me for most application. You may need install some fonts too (ttf-mscorefonts-installer and tahoma seems enough for most apps)
