Some Windows apps work almost perfectly, some work only partially, and some don't work at all. It's all down to the individual app and configuration.
You can play with some of the settings to see if you can get those parts to work. Run 'winecfg' to get the wine setup dialog. Especially, if you have access to real Windows .dll files you can sometimes use them and get better results than using the built-in versions.
