Wine, OpenGL and SoftMap

Hi all,

I have been trying to install the Windows program SoftMap Plus on Debian Etch, and after a bit of moving files I am tantalizing close, I do get the opening screen, but the moment I try to open a file, it fails with this message;

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
err:wgl:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo couldn't initialize OpenGL, expect problems
err:wgl:has_opengl Intialization of OpenGL info failed, disabling OpenGL!
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
err:wgl:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo couldn't initialize OpenGL, expect problems
err:wgl:has_opengl Intialization of OpenGL info failed, disabling OpenGL!
fixmele:CoRegisterMessageFilter message filter has been registered, but will not be used
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x5a470ec (thread 0009), starting debugger...
err:seh:start_debugger Couldn't start debugger ("winedbg --auto 8 256") (2)
Read the Wine Developers Guide on how to set up winedbg or another debugger

I installed libwine-gl, but that does not make any difference.
Graphics card is nVidia TNT2.

Any hints would be welcome...

Marty

You should install and run proper driver for your video card, or software emulated opengl realization like mesa.

Every little bit helps!

Thanks, I have come a little bit further... close, but no cigar... Wine gives still an error, but at least it doesn't ask for OpenGL anymore

What do you see when you execute this command in a terminal:
Code:
glxinfo |grep -i -e direct -e vendor

Janneman.

It looks like your machine doesn't have 3d accelerated graphics drivers. I don't know about the Intel cards - I've always had nvidia cards.
