WINE Only Functions Properly as Root
 

Hi, first off I know I'm never supposed to run WINE as root.

I use these programs:
Astonia3
WoW
Ventrilo

Astonia3 does not work unless I am root - it says packets/sprites are missing.

Ventrilo can not connect to certain servers, times out to other certain servers, and in others it will join but everything will be blank. Unless I'm root.

WoW works fine.

I assume this is a chmod issue but I have already ran 'chmod -R a+rwX ~/.wine' (even tried it seperately on each file) but nothing fixes the issue, I have tried chown as well.

I managed to get astonia3 working while not under root by CD'ing into the directory first so i can run 'wine astonia.exe' instead of supplying the full path name, weird how that works.

However, I still do not know how to get vent going properly.
