Wine NTFS
Hey Guys
I have SuSE Linux 8.2 Professional which comes with Wine pre-installed. When I ran set-up Wine automatically detected my settings, however, when I open Wine I get the following output. I also tried using a virtual Windows drive but I still got the following message... "wine needs a windows executable as parameter!" I have Windows 2000 Server using the NTFS filing system on my C drive (HDA1). Linux is located on HDB2 using the Reiser filing system. Could it be the filing system Windows NT uses? Can somebody please tell me what I or Wine has done wrong and how to fix it. |
I would suggest creating a fake windows drive and using that, instead of your existing NTFS partition. This is because (unless Suse includes NTFS write support, which I don't think it does) NTFS partitions are read-only to linux, write support is still being tested. So you'll be using your Windows drive read-only, which I don't think Wine will like. (I could be wrong...)
