Wine issues

Hello I've recently installed Wine and I'm getting an error with a program I'm trying to run that looks like this:

err:dcCE_FreeWindowDCE [0X10094] GetDC() witout ReleaseDC()!

Any clues would be helpful I'm pretty new to wine linux etc and could really use some help.

Thanks,

Adam

It's a homemade openGL program written using Visual C++ that I'm trying to port into Linux. Wine looked like a good candidate and I guess I was trying to find if this is kind of a standard type error message that maybe someone would know what direction to point me. I'm not having any issues with the program loading, this issue I'm having is that the window where the openGL graphics are suppose to be displayed are not begin displayed. It's just a gray area in which nothing seems to be happening.

check out WineX. It has the "api's" needed to do 3D graphics and whatnot. I am currently using Cedega http://www.transgaming.com It is the commercial version of WineX. It cost me $30, but was worth it to have a simple RPM to install. Plus, you get a lot of things they couldnt give away with the free version due to licensing issues.

Maybe someone else can give you a good answer, but if you're not afraid to compile, check out WineX CVS.

I didn't notice at first that is is actually loading the file however it is placing the window it normal is viewed through on top of it instead of having it acting like a mask.

Guess I could try and remove the mask and see what happens.

Thanks myk I may give WineX a try as well.

There was a bug fixed with certain types of OpenGL windows in CVS lately. I'd recommend you try that, and talk to wine-devel if your problems persist.
