Wine IE6 help
I've been trying for 3 days to get IE6 for Wine to work. I am on RedHat9 and have wine 20040408. I've tried to install from Mike's script but i get this error message:

[root@localhost stunt]# sh
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing IE6 Installer v1.0.........

Running the IE 6 setup program - please be patient, this can take some time
If you are behind a proxy go make a cup of tea or something, this might take a few minutes

Simulating a reboot...

Updating configuration file and registry

./install-ie6: line 188: pushd: /home/stunt/.wine/dosdevices/c://Program Files/Internet Explorer: No such file or directory
./install-ie6: line 190: popd: directory stack empty

wine: cannot find 'c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe'

Temporary files have been left in /tmp/ie-setup. You can leave them there if you think
you'll run this script again, or you can delete the directory.

Install complete. Problems? Contact me: <>
This is driving me crazy because Steam won't run without it and I don't want WineX because I have a lot of apps that I need to run that WineX doesn't support. Thanx.

Why on earth are you trying to run IE6??? You can just run konqueror or Opera in IE emulation mode...

if you dont use for netbrowsing!
I want to install IE 6 too, not for browsing! Some programs require the ie, example StudioLine, WinGate, etc.

Neither of them are perfect in emulating IE. Web developers need to know exactly how IE will render their webpages so they have to install IE too, which somehow makes them evil Microsoft-loving sellouts to some zealots here.
