Question WINE?! help!

I dont get, im the bigges or maybe just slow, can some one give me a quick tutorial on wine, just to get it started at least.

I would like one too. I keep getting this messge when I try and open a file called Poke.Exe:

root@localhost Poke]# wine -- Poke.exe
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /cdrom (No such file or directory), ignoring drive D:
Warning: could not find wine config [Drive x] entry for current working directory /usr/local/lib/win/Poke; starting in windows directory.
wine: cannot find 'Poke.exe'
[root@localhost Poke]#

looks like metalhead730 needs to look at his config file, and thisisnotdave needs to tell us a more specific problem or just search google...there's a wealth of information out there: go seize the day.

well ive been trying trying to install wine but i keep getting errors, right now when i try to run it i get

wine: chdir to /root/.wine/wineserver-dhcp-28-14 : No such file or directory

does anyone know what the means?

i rpm -ihv winexxxx.rpm

is there something else i should have done?

1) Don't try and run wine as root.

2) Read the users guide at

3) If you want an easy to use, GUI version of it, look into CrossOver from CodeWeavers.

A simple pointy-clicky more robust version of Wine is being worked on (0.9) but won't be out until late this year, assuming no slippage.
