Wine (fixme: "ValidateProductID")

I'm getting this fixme whenever I try to install Nexus -- The Jupiter Conflict.

fixme:msi:ACTION_HandleStandardAction unhandled standard action L"ValidateProductID"

The install goes through fine yet when I try to play the game, I get an error saying that the Product Key could not be validated. Is there any way to bypass this or a way to place the key in so that the product key does get validated?

did you enter a valid serial on install? maybe the value isn't written to the registry wine creates or something.

Not that i condone this sort of action but it's been said that getting 'fixed' binaries that bypass validation checks work better in wine.

Well see that's the problem. When I go to install, I get the fixme message and the validation check never comes up. I go through the whole install, go to run the game and that's when I run into the problem. No product key is registered and so nexus won't run.

Alright, found a solution to my problem. The validation check still doesn't run, however I found where it's implemented in the registry. I did <wine regedit>, browsed to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mithis\Nexus - The Jupiter Incident\Misc_AuthKey, double-clicked, added the key, and now nexus runs.
