Wine failed with return code 137

I use Gentoo Linux. I installed wine and winesetuptk. I ran winesetuptk and then tried to run a windows file. I cd'd into the dir of the program and tried:
Code:
bash-2.05b$ winesetuptk
bash-2.05b$ cd /home/whishkah/DSdev/dualis-8
bash-2.05b$ dir
arm9.dll dsgpu.dll dsmmu.dll dualis.exe dualis.ini input.dll readme.txt
bash-2.05b$ wine dualis.exe
Killed
bash-2.05b$ wineserver
bash-2.05b$ wine dualis.exe
Killed
bash-2.05b$ winelauncher dualis.exe
Invoking /usr/bin/wine dualis.exe ...
/usr/bin/winelauncher: line 432: 3595 Killed $WINEBIN/$WINE_BIN_NAME "$@"
Wine failed with return code 137
/usr/bin/winelauncher: line 566: 3590 Terminated $XMESSAGE -timeout 30 -buttons " Dismiss ":0," Never display this message again ":3 -title "Wine Launch Window" "Invoking $WINEBIN/$WINE_BIN_NAME $@ ...

This dialog box is a temporary status dialog to let you know
that Wine is attempting to launch your application.

Since Wine is still very much in a development stage,
        many applications will fail silently.
This dialog box is your indication
that we're *trying* to run your application.

This dialog box will automatically disappear after 30 seconds,
        or after your application finishes.

You can permanently disable this dialog by selecting
        the option below.
        "
Killed
bash-2.05b$ winecfg
Killed
I had wine when I used SuSE and Mandrake, plus others. -Yet until now I never had a need to try it. -I did ask on the Gentoo forums, but I was told to Google. I did but got nothing but wine and wine tasting links. Can someone help me?

Thanks

I have the same problem, same return code 137... On wine, winex and cedega...

Do you happen to run hardened gentoo?

OK, hope you still read this thread, I just found how to solve it -- if you run gentoo hardened, that is.
Head over to the wine folder (/usr/lib/wine/bin or something) and do
Code:
chpax -pemrxs wine wineserver winepreloader
"paxctl" can also be used if you have that installed.

This will disable all hardened-restrictions on wine.
There are probably some flags that could remain turned on, play around a bit to find the "most secure" situation that still works.
