Wine did not install DLLs

I have a fresh installation of Wine but no program is running. When I looked at the "faked c drive" in /home/mezzymeat/c I saw that it contained no dll-files at all. There are files in /usr/local/lib/wine and in /usr/local/Install/wine-20040505/dlls/ that are named things like kernel32.dll.so, user32.dll.so and so on.

But I have no files on the system called kernel32.dll, user32.dll, and so on. Is wine supposed to install all dlls or do I have to do it myself? And how?

You can for instance copy the files to the corresponding folders from your Windows partition. There are also programs to confiugure Wine, that dowanload the dlls from the net and configure the basic options. I installed IE 6.0 on debian's wine using wine tools downloadable from here: http://frankscorner.org/files/winetools-2.1.0.tgz

First of all I do not have Windows. I am a complete Linux-geek. :P So copying files from my own computer wont do it. And I have tried winetools but that also complains about missing dll-files. I was thinking about just using like DC to download dll-files from other people but I was not sure if that would work properly so that's why I asked here before.
