wine + counterstrike

hi ,

this is probably a common problem ,

i have installed both cs 1.5 and 1.6 on my windows partition and have installed wine on my fedora core 1

i cant get either version to run with wine

when i try to run counter-strike 1.5 with
wine hl.exe -nomaster -game cstrike

i get the following error:

Counter-Strike requires 16 bit color . Please change your desktop settings to HiColor etc etc

i tried changing the /etc/X11/XF86Config file resolution from 24 to 16 but it still doesnt work

can someone help me out ?

i don't know how to use windows partitions with wine but i get counter strike and half life working by installing them under wine. there are so many settings in ~/.wine/config that might be important but these are the things i had to add (put them at the bottom of the file and see if it fixes)
if it doesn't work just write back and i will post my entire config so you can play with settings
but i have to repeat i don't know how to use wine from a windows partition
Code:
[AppDefaults\\hl.exe\\x11drv]
"Managed" = "N"
[AppDefaults\\cstrike.exe\\x11drv]
"Managed" = "N"

actually , it worked for me , all i had to was install wine and do wine hl.exe etc

but it came in a window , after that i changed something i dont remember what exactly

since then its not starting ,

that was with cs 1.5

but cs 1.6 just doesnt work , i installed internet explorere and updated it too .
cs 1.6 just starts adn ends saying that it needs access to some mozilla activex control.

after wine simply ends , i guess its a bug or something .. but ill try ur suggestion n tell u
