WINE + BitComet
Hi there.
I'm trying to run BitComet from my M$win installation using wine but I get a :
"Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 (MSXML 3.0) is required.
Please upgradre your IE blah blah blah"
However XP come with MSXML 3.0 and i've included it in libraries overrides in winecfg...
I haven't experimented a lot with wine, and I can't figure out what's wrong with this one.
Any idea?
Thanks!

Hey,
I suggest using a Linux bittorrent client. Why do you want to use BitComet?
Cheers,
Aaron

That's a good question nevelis,
I think that comet's just makes faster downloads, but I could be wrong..
Ive used bittorrent in the past, ABC and now Ktorrent and I think they're abit slower, (well actually ktorrent's is a lot slower)...
But it's a wine issue as well...

Try Azureus.
Downloads speeds for torrent shouldnt rely on client but seeders

yes.. i finally installed azureus...
But I mnot sure about the seeders and the clients u say... with ktorrent before 1 hour I's downloading the same torrent with average speed 4kb/s an two minutes later with azureus at 17kb/s..
Also with azureus I never had d/l speed more than 30-35 kb/s (use it the last 2 years on linux) on a 512 adsl, while with bitcomet maximum speed is 50 or so..
I'd like to know, however, what's wrong with WINE....

I've used Azureus for a year now, and I think it's great. I just turn off all the upload/download caps and increase the maximum number of connections. Normally it averages around 60-70kB/s, highest I've had is 700.
Cheers,
Aaron
