Wine and WineX installs not going as planned... ShowEQ not showing any data...

This post is actually 2 questions, and I hope in the next couple days to be able to post success stories for both questions.

I have been attempting to install Wine and WineX, separately of course, but neither of them seem to be putting the correct files in the correct places. I have done configure && make depend && make && make install for both installations, but I continue to get errors when I do a winecheck, specifically about windows pathing.

Error enclosed:
. Invalid path 'c:\windows' for windows directory: does not exist
. Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file.
. This is (supposed to be) '/root/.wine/config'

Full ./tools/winecheck log follows here:

--------------------------- checking Wine base files ---------------------------
001. Checking for file "wine"... OK.
002. Checking for correct .so lib config (please wait)... OK.

----------------------------- checking config file -----------------------------
003. Checking config file access... OK.

>>> Checking drive C settings:
004. Checking Path option... FAILED (${HOME}/.transgaming/c_drive/ does not exist !).
- ADVICE: create this directory or point Path to a real directory.
005. Checking Type option... OK.
006. Checking Filesystem option... OK.
--> PROBLEM.

>>> Checking drive D settings:
007. Checking Path option... OK.
008. Checking Type option... OK.
009. Checking Filesystem option... OK.
--> OK.

>>> Checking drive E settings:

>>> Checking drive G settings:
013. Checking Path option... OK.
014. Checking Type option... OK.
015. Checking Filesystem option... OK.
--> OK.

--------------------- checking system devices used by Wine ---------------------
016. Checking sound device /dev/dsp... OK.
017. Checking audio mixer device /dev/mixer... OK.
018. Checking MIDI sequencer device /dev/sequencer... BAD (no kernel driver for /dev/sequencer?).
- ADVICE: module loading problems ? Read /usr/src/linux/Documentation/modules.txt.

----------------------- checking registry configuration ------------------------
019. Checking availability of winedefault.reg entries... CRITICAL (entry "SHAREDMEMLOCATION" not found in system.reg registry file).
- ADVICE: file winedefault.reg doesn't seem to have been applied using regapi.
020. Checking availability of windows registry entries... CRITICAL (entry "Default Taskbar" not found).
- ADVICE: Windows registry does not seem to be added to Wine, as this typical Windows registry entry does not exist in Wine's registry. This can affect many newer programs. A complete original Windows re$
20 tests. 0 suspicious, 1 bad, 2 critical, 1 failed.
Wine configuration correctness score: 10.30%

Now, I understand that the registry is not installed, hence my errors there, but I do indeed have a /home/.transgaming/c_drive, and it is telling me I don't. Someone please assist with this problem.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have successfully installed ShowEQ over a Slackware 9.0 install with the 2.4.20 kernel. I have a Netgear RT311 Gateway Router connected to my Cable Modem, and a Linksys 5 port Hub in lone after the router. The linux box is 192.168.0.6 and the win2k box is 192.168.0.3

I have instructed ShowEQ to look for next everquest instance, as well as looking directly to the IP, and have have had no success in getting ShowEQ to actually show me anything. The software is working correctly as far as I can tell, but it is not recieving data from EQ. If anyone can assist me with this, I'd be greatly appreciative.

Moved: Asking questions doesn't qualify it as a Success Story, at least not yet. Moved to Software where its more suitable.
