WINE and the Slackware 14.0_64. Programs won't run.

All,

I’ve recently installed Slackware 14_64. I’m running it on a HP2945SE laptop with AMD Turion x2 processor. I’m using NVIDIA 295.59 driver. I’ve also installed Alien Bobs multilibs for 14_64. I didn’t do the massconvert, I installed the precompiled *.tgx(z) files.

With all that said, I’ve installed several copies of WINE. (1.5.1_64 / 1.4.1_64 / 1.4.1 32bit) Not all at the same. The problem is I can’t get any of my windows programs to run. One program will come up to a login screen and then change to flash screen before dropping out. I don’t get an error it just drops. Other games the windows border will flash for a second and then drop out. I’ve tried winetricks and install new versions of Direct X along with Flash player and IE8 along with Wine-Gecko(various rev levels) I can’t get it to work. I didn’t have this issue with 13.37_64 and older WINE and older NVIDIA drivers. So I know the machine will run WINE.

So to my question(s)
1)Has WINE been a problem for anyone else updating to 14.0_64 or NVIDIA 295.59?
2)With the programs I’m attempting to run in WINE not giving me any errors, is there somewhere else I can look to get an idea of the problem. IE some sort of log or command

BTW I am attempting to get answers on the WINE site but wanted to see if this is a common problem for ppl updating to 14.0_64 before assuming it’s solely a WINE issue.

Thanks in Advance
Ace

Well, I figured it out. I remembered that I had installed my NVIDIA_64 (295.59) driver the first thing on my new Slackware 14_64 installation. The reason is KDE wouldn't come up clearly with out it on my computer. The Nouveau caused the screen to be unreadable.

Anyway, tonight when I was debating on going back to an older version of the driver, it hit me, I didn't have the 32bit multilibs installed before I installed the NVIDIA driver so only the 64 bit aspect of the driver was installed. I reinstalled the driver and now all my 32bit Windows programs work fine.

Hope this helps somebody.
