wine and rh9

Im running rh9 and installed wine-20030805. The only windows program I can get working properly is kazaa lite. All of the others produce this same error:
err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit /dev/mixer1: not found!
err:wave:OSS_WaveInInit /dev/mixer1: not found!
Does anyone know what that means or how to get around it?
Any good tutorials for installing windows media player or internet explorer? Do the plugins for internet explorer work (shockwave, java, etc) when installed via wine?

maybe you can help me with kazaalite then, I posted in a previous thread about this, but I can't seem to install wine, it keeps not finding my gcc and c development tools which I know are installed.

the best i can tell ya is to go to frankscorner...it tells you how to install alot of commonly used windows apps...and there is a fourm there also, so if its not listed on the main site then maybe you can browse that..but reflecting your post, it does show how to install IE and win media player.
Franks Corner

also there is a perl script i forget where you get it but it is called winecheck, and it shows you how accurate your installation of wine is...and i know it shows things such as the /dev/mixer so maybe either a) it will tell you how to go about fixing it, or b) your sound card doesn't support it...
