I have installed Kazaalite with wine-downloaded from codeweavers.com . I have installed kazaa
without any problem but when i click an icon of
kazaa it displays erorr : Failed to create empty
document .
I have MDK 8.2. What should I do reinstall Kazaa?
I *REALLY* don't mean to sound rude or anything, but why do you want to do that in the first place? there are plenty of really good clients native to linux already, and wine is still VERY much in development, and of little practical use. I don't use kazaa personally, i use gtk-gnutella, and it's a damn site better than anythign i've ever had to use under windows
I use gtk-gnutella too but I am not satisfied . Speeds of download are very
low, much lower comparing too Kazaa in windows . Often I can't
download files because users are not online etc. On the other hand
there are more rare files
Now I can't run kazaalite from command line I get errors. During installation of
kazaalite there is a question if you want to place icon shorcut on your desktop
m4rqs, I have yet to hear of a person who can actually make that or similar programs to it work on Linux. Not to "bring down the man" or anything, but you may be in for more than you expected.
Well if you read the latest security advisories you'd refrain from use of kazaa http://online.securityfocus.com/news/590 (even though the worm described infects windows hosts, nothing prevents it to modify your system registry folders even if you run windows apps through wine)
Does anyone know how to make gtk-gnutella work behind a LAN? I successfully installed gtk-gnutella 0.92; xmule; qtella; and limewire for linux. In none of them i could make it hear the damned listening port. In xmule i even loade the servers list but could not connect. It thinks i'm firewalled. Would appreciate some advice. Thnks folks.
P.S. My computer is Windows free... MDK 9.1 ; Wine 20020508
