Wine and Crossover Office?

I understand that Wine is the real "engine" behind Crossover Office. However, they are different in these regards: Wine is updated much more frequently (and presumably, would be more compatible with a wider range of programs), while Crossover Office has a more polished interface that allows for easier installation of programs.

Suppose I wanted to take advantage of both features? Can I use the latest Crossover Office, then as Wine gets updated, copy and overwrite the appropriate files from Wine into Crossover Office? Is this something worth trying, or am I likely to crash something?

Judging by the Wine version compatibility list on the WineTools site, it seems the answers to your questions are No and Yes, in that order.
