I called Dell Tech Support and asked if they would fix the PC if the BIOS update hosed it. "Sure" I updated, it hosed and the Dell person wanted me to reinstall Ubuntu 14.04 which was on the machine when I purchased it (and out of date even then). Wrong! A second level person called me back. He seemed on the ball. After more than an hour of messing around I figured I would just reinstall CentOS 7.5. I told him before I did that I would unplug everything from the machine, pop the coin cell battery and blow the dust out of it while I had the cover off. "That should not fix it." I did it, it fixed it and I put in a new coin cell as the one in there was a couple of years old. I am back on line.

Just to add one more option... From my discussions on the epel mailing list, here is a repo with the 32 bit version of wine. I have tested it on CentOS 7.5 with good results. A big thank you to Mr. Richard Grainger!

In my normal absent minded manner I neglected to post a link to the wine32 repo. Here it is
