Angry Wine

i'm having trouble getting wine to load starcraft (i wouldnt have tried it but someone said it worked" im trying to load it on mepix which up until now has merged flawlessly with everything ive tried

i get an error that i misconfigured......and taht its missing a file and it says please instert the cd-rom even though it is in the drive

i've mounted my cd-rom drive before i started the program and also made sure the dev and mount points are corrrect but i dont have anyother ideas anyone got some for me?

its weird cuz i can get it to work no problem with the starcraft level editor but not the actual game (i beliieve the editor doesnt require the cd)

Ok, i think i know how to fix this.
the folder ~/.wine/dosdevices contains symlinks to the drives in wine.
(if you had the same problem as me) i think what you need to do is make a symlink for your cdrom, and the cdrom dev file. so do this:
ln -s /mnt/cdrom ~/.wine/dosdevices/d:
ln -s /dev/cdrom ~/.wine/dosdevices/d::
That made starcraft run for me

If this doesn't work, reinstall starcraft, except with the new symlinks in the dosdevices place.

hope this helps
