wine


I have downloaded wine 20040716 ontomy slackware 9.1 I succesfully extracted all of the files I think. What other steps do I have to take to successfuly install it , and verify thast it is correctly installed.

You are going to need a whole bunch of chickens to sacrifice - and a couple of pigs if you can manage them...Lots of blood, candles and such to appease the wine gods so that your install will work and run the chosen windows app for at least a week...

Aside from that you will need the usual steps of reading the README's and doing a ./configure make make install if it says so. Then you read some more and work out the wine.conf...

It can be fun if you like that sort of fun...

But if you are doing this because you really need win app A to run or game B, then look at $40 crossover wine (MS OFFICE, etc) or $15 winex wine (Games, etc)...
