Windows vs linux? discussion?

I migrated to Linux about a year now and don't ever gonna go back to windows. for you windows guys Linux is very powerful gets the job done without installing 10 software one for each task and and has capabilities that windows cant even begin to give us. and really very comfortable if you know a little just little programming and scripting and its FREE what can top that ?!

But on other hand windows is user friendly and provides a lot of things to people who don't wanna know about whats working behind and just wanna get the job done . and yeah lots of tools are available for windows that Linux is still catching up take data recovery for instance.But after windows 10 they forced us to update services otherwise they wont work and it detects and deletes pirated software .. well isnt pirated software the only reason people use windows ?? just wanna know what you guys think .

I personally use Ubuntu 14.10 , centos6 and kali in my raspberry pi.

Thanks,
Blake Ashton

I wouldn't mind Windows if it simply didn't get slow over time. There is nothing more annoying than a slow OS.

We can have Windows along with a Linux/Unix terminal as an application(which again connected to servers)to work with exactly like a Linux environment and the business people do not need to understand what goes behind technically.

So, Windows is helpful for Business people and the technical people work for business.

Windows lives forever until Business exists and Linux supports Business both will have their own improvements.
Yes, Linux will have open source tools for free and more easy to use for technical purpose. But, Windows is always for non-technical and Business purpose.

windows vs Linux

I personally disagree with the philosophy of windows and agree with Linux to the fullest. However, lets not forget about virtualization here; we can use both at the same time.

Linux = More flexible :)
Windows = Industry standard :(

My 2 cents.

I'm not tied to one or the other. There are more choices than those two mentioned also. :)

Welcome to LQ by the way.
