Windows unable to read full filenames from CD burnt on linux
I used k3b to burn some CD, the files had some long names. On reading it in windows, it chops up the filenames, so the end characters are lost. Linux reads them fine however.
Its on SUSE 9.1 pro Any help on how to fix this? Thanks |
it gets complicated.... http://www.imagemontage.com/Docs/FileNames.html

You have to select the File system type supporting Joliet extensions and not the standard Rock Ridge, you can read why below.

When I selectd burn, there was an option to "add" joliet extension, shood I add that to rock ridge extension, or deselect the rockridge extensions? I could select both the joliet and rockridge extensions.

Only the joliet extension selection can be active

Interestingly, I can select both.
Anyway on deselecting the rockridge, and selecting the joliet one, the cd was being read correctly in windowz |
