Windows Start Key to open Gnome Main Menu

Is there a way to make the start key on my keyboard automatically open the gnome main menu? If you suggest a program or a utility, can you please tell me the exact procedure of using the program/utility to achieve this end?

Assuming you have the latest gnome, you can try this Start->Desktop->Preferences->KeyBoard Shortcuts. In that for the gnome main menu, you can bind the accelerator just by clicking on it and pressing the win key

Yep, but it'll only let you use it as a meta-key so you can't use it the way it works in windows

Anybody have a workaround?
