windows programs on linux

Is there a way to run basic windows programs on linux. I have some testing software for elementary students and I was wonder if there would be a way to run it. I am using red hat 8.0 by the way.
Thanks

Wine was very likely installed and if you simply put the CD in, so long as they are basic basic windows programs, you can click on the required setup.exe, install.exe, etc. With zero configuration, I was able to get 2 of my 6 old shareware games from University to run. By and large though, very little works with wine with zero configuration.
