Windows on Linux Software Raid

I don't know if someone has tried this before.

At least I haven't found anything yet on the net...

It is possible, in theory?

The question does not make too much sense to me ... "who's the operating-system-in-command here?"

If Linux is controlling the storage devices, say with Samba as the file-sharing server, then as far as the Windows guest is concerned Linux is simply another server, and the fact that it is RAID is invisible. The same would be true if the role of the two OSes were reversed.

Now... my opinion is... hardware RAID controller cards are worth the money. Not only are they simpler to use, but they generally have all-around faster hardware throughout.

his question isn't that complicated... he just wants to know if he can install Windows on a RAID partition created with linux...

it's not possible though, not even on windows raid (dynamic volumes). Windows itself cannot reside on a software raid of any type, only true hardware raid (or fakeraid with proper drivers loaded at boot).
