Windows Files in SuSE

I recently installed SuSE on my pc at home. To my pleasant surpirse, it went off without a hitch -- almost. I am an absolute newbie so parhaps I am just missing something but for whatever reason I can't see any of my Windows files while running Linux. I can see the partition and folders, but everything is empty. Any help / pointers for reference would be greatly appreciated!! Otherwise, I love it... I can't wait to dive into it over the weekend. If it weren't for a couple of apps that I use frequently, I'd be done with Windows for good.

posting the same thread to two different forums isn't really needed...I'd advice you to choose one forum to post into.. (sorry I'm complaining, but it's irritating..)

have you checked that you have r/w permissions on the partition? or should I put it like this: if the partition was mounted at boot, it was mounted for users and not only for root..altough I don't think this could be it if you can view folders.

also, is the windows partition FAT or what?

Once again, my apologies. I didn't notice the newbie forum until after I'd posted to this one -- I just though my question would be more appropriate there, hence my apology after the second post.

The partition is NTFS but am not sure about permissions -- I'm not in front the machine, but I will get back with that info.
