I've built a mysql database of the music on my computer through amarok. Realizing that because this database is mysql it could potentially now be used across networks or even the internet. So I'm trying to find an audio player for windows to connect to this database. I don't want to use web browser through amarok because if this is really successful I may find myself using this at work and they don't give me access to port 80. So I'd like to directly connect to mysql through it's own port. Any ideas on decent enough windows media players to be able to do this?

I'm familiar with VLC. However I wasn't aware of it's mysql connecting capabilities.
