Windowmanager troubles

I'm having problems selecting Window managers.

Rught now I ahve my system set up to boot into runlevel four and use KDM as the login manager. The problem is that no matter which session type I choose in the menu, KDE is the only one that will run.

Relevant specs:
OS: Slack 9.1 w/ 2.6.2 kernel
XFree86 4.4.0
KDE 3.2

Other WMs I have installed and would like to run
Blackbox
Gnome
Fluxbox
Fwvm95

I'll post more info if needed.

which menu? If you are NOT talking about `xwmconfig` try that first.

I'm not, but that doesn't work. I've tried. The menu I'm talking about is the one that you see when the KDE login screen comes up.

The button reads "Menu" and you click on it, and some submenus come up.

One of these says "Session type" and gives a list of various window managers, and allows you to pick the one you'd like to use for this session. No matter which of those in the list I pick, KDE always starts.
