Windowmaker RPM?
 

I downloaded the WindowMaker 8.2-3 except when i run it and goto info it shows up as 8.1-0 what is that about? and most of the applications wont run i just keep getting errors. any (more) help would be appreciated thanks.

try compiling it from source.

Its pretty easy to compile.


If you want Anti Aliased fonts or Xinerama support, pick up the CVS version, otherwise just get .80.2

I did that and got massive errors then i downloaded the cvs and i dont know how to install it from there, i dont even know what cvs means, lol. So i downloaded the rpm and that worked but its the older version that installed but i downloaded the newer one.

CVS = concurrent versions system. Its complicated, but for you, it means your getting the bleeding edge developers release.


Why not post the compile errors?

Because i cant cut and paste within the console.

Depending on your terminal you can either select and DRAG the information into the place you want to paste or you have some shortcut like Ctrl + Shift + C , as I have it. You can configure that in your terminal's properties ;)

try using the Gnome or KDE Console, they allow cutting/pasting.
