WindowMaker and Xorg server problems with keyboard

Hello! I have noticed for a while now that with my new Debian install (Etch), that Ctrl+Alt+Backspace no longer kills the X server. I've seen on-line that you now have to do it twice in 2 seconds... but even that doesn't work.

This isn't the only problem. I've been trying to get WindowMaker window manager to work, but I started noticing it refused to capture the "Alt" key. Now I am noticing that alt doesn't work anywhere in X. This would explain why Ctrl+Alt+Backspace doesn't work.

Is there a setting somewhere where X or some other program is intercepting alt? I had a daemon running called "hotkeys", and I disabled it (with no luck), but I can't find anything else... not even with google.

I am going to check my keyboard tomorrow (you never know...).

Sorry, I found out the Alt key on my keyboard is broken... no bugs here.

Thanks anyhow.
