restart WindowMaker? umm, why? it is frequently crashing on you?

are you familier with /etc/inittab ???

Slackware defaults to init 3 which is CLI i usually leave it at 3 and just add init 4 as a parameter at boot time, i could edit inittab to default to 4 but i prefer to leave it at 3 so if X develops a problem i dont have it constantly respawning in an endless loop...

if you want to make WindowMaker the default desktop run xwmconfig and set WindowMaker as default...

thanks but this isn't the problem. To be more specific, I use "xcompmgr -c" to enable dropshadows. It's in .xinitrc so every time I startx I have dropshadows. But when I run gkrellm with dropshadows half of the gkrellm's window is missing until I refresh the screen or hit the "Restart WindowMaker" buton from menu. So I wanna place a "refresh screen command" to .xinitrc....

thanks
