Window Animation in Gnome

How to I disable the window animation in Gnome? I already tried Configuration Editor>apps>panel>global and unchecked the "window animation" box but it didnt disable it.

Run 'gconf-editor' aka Configuration Editor look for /apps/metacity/general/ and check the reduced_resources box.

just in case someone else wants to know.
