Bah, the only reason I want winamp5 right now is because of the skins. I'm so sick of basic skins.

i need a playlist feature like what winamp does in its media library which i just make all my custom playlist and then just click at them an it is loaded into main playlist rather then xmms save it and then if needed need to locate the playlist (m3u, pls)...
i would like to see xmms to have these feature in it in future release.
i'm currenlty very happy with xmms coz it does what i need except the playlist part.
its stable and sounds great.

The main reason why i would like to run winamp 5 under linux is as above mentioned the media library, when you start to get a large collection, the basic playlist just doesnt cut it. Ive found a hack media library for xmms, but i cant remember the URL, it was still however missing crucial elements :
1 : did not database the mp3s, just read em into mem
2 : doesnt have playlist management
3 : didnt integrate with xmms as well as the media library.
Understandably, these things take a lot of work to develop, ive had a bash at it myself, but i just dont have enough knowledge of xmms, reading mp3 tags, and gui stuff, which kinda means that i very quickly gave up.
As for the skins, thats really arb...

Just for the fun of it, I tried installing Wimamp 5 with Wine and it installed ok, but when I went to click on the icon to launch it, Winamp would not start. I don't remember which skin I told it to use. I might have chosen Modern rather than Classic.
As far as Shoutcasts and streaming radio is concerned, I've found Stream Tuner. It was mentioned on another post on this forum. Stream Tuner uses XMMS by default.
Stream Tuner does have a library manager (click on its Local tab). You do have to tell it where to look for your music library, unfortuately, it will not load your playlists. Also, it does not enqueue your songs. Otherwise, it's a good app.
