Will k3b convert mp3's to wavs for burning audio cds? And prob with k3b 0.11

I ask because I tried to have k3b burn some mp3's onto an audio cd like Nero does(converting the mp3's to wavs for an audio cd). K3b tells me that it doesn't recognize the the mp3 format. Probably something simple I'm missing... I'm doing this with k3b 0.10 in Suse 9.

Second issue:
Installed k3b 0.11 for Suse. It launches and I get a new cute splash screen but then it disappears and no k3b. :(

I started k3b in a terminal and this is the last few lines that are displayed:

mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding
WARNING: KGenericFactory: instance requested but no instance name passed to the constructor!
k3b: relocation error: k3b: undefined symbol: _ZN11KMainWindow4showEv

I have the same problems with k3b. It's just being severely retarded. Restart X and it should work.

As for the mp3 thing... I'll tell you when I have a solution to that.

Hi,

Any solutions yet? I've got the same prob.

You need the mp3 plugin for K3b. It doesn't necessarily come with one, so..head to the net, find a binary package for your distribution/K3b version and go ahead. If you view K3b settings, you'll see a plugin list there...

About K3b not starting..it could be anything. I'd start off deleting .kde and/or .gnome or .gnome2 directories --> removing all user-specific desktop settings, and seeing if that helps. Well, maybe first rename the directories and not remove them, so it's easier to get the settings back if it doesn't help..
