can i install gamemaker on centos 5, or is that considered a windows application?

Did you check their webiste, to see if it runs on Linux??? That would be the best place to start.

If they have a Linux version, then you're all set. If not, then it's not for Linux. Again, you might be able to use Wine to run it, but not sure.
