Wiimote working and not working at the same time

i got me a wii remote and got it working but after about 30 or so minutes it stops working, i can control the left and right click with it but the mouse will not move. i searched and couldn't find nothing on how to fix it, so i installed irda_utils because i was thinking it was the ir port. got it installed and tried it out and it worked for a minute and stopped, right back where i was. so to me the infrared port is either disabled or something, i just can't get it to work. i am running an hp pavilion dv6227 laptop with frugalware 1.1 stable, 1.5gb of memory and an 80gb hdd.

What driver are you using for the Wii remote? I know there are a few libraries out there to support it.

I'm not sure why it would only work for a few minutes, but I can tell you for sure that irda_utils has absolutely nothing to do with it. Those are utilities and libraries for using the IRDA port on the local machine, it has nothing to do with the IR camera in the Wii remote. All communication with the remote is done over Bluetooth.

i know the buttons are controlled by the bluetooth but the mouse movement is done with the ir port. that is where i am having the trouble with. everything else works but the ir.
