why is cheese not working on Fedora 8?

Hello everyone,
I have Fedora 8 with KDE 3.5.9 and kernel on my Acer laptop. It has an Acer Crystal Eye webcam.I installed cheese ( for taking photos from the webcam ).However,it is not detecting the webcam ( it says "no webcam found sorry" ).The web-camera is working fine with Windows XP and also ekiga and skype in Fedora. What might be the problem?
Thank you,
