I am simply pointing out that it's not a good idea. To quote the Kerryman when asked for directions
"If I was you, I wouldn't start from here at all!"

It's your system. Put a '#' in front of the partitions mounted on /var & /tmp in /etc/fstab, reboot & you're done.
