who shows "nonexistant" users
 

I log into my RH9 box through telnet or using Xmanager. when I've logged out of an Xmanager session, the who command (run from a telnet session) still shows an entry for the user that was logged in via xmanager. Logging in/out again with Xmanager adds another entry to the who list.

who -up shows pid numbers for these sessions that don't show with ps -aux

I tried telinit 3 then 5 but no change.

Any pointers to how to remove the who entries ?

I used screen and it's caused the same problem Xmanger
cause you. Sorry, I don't have a fix. Hope this will
help someone help us.
