who is logged in using sftp

i'm letting some friends login to my linux server with sftp (ssh). neither 'who','w', or 'finger' lets me see who is logged in using sftp. how can i make these users show? i can see they logged in using some of my logging scripts, but i would like to be able to see what they're doing, what they're accessing and so on. is there any way i can do this?

Probably the best thing to do is setup permissions so they can only get to stuff you don't care if they access. As far as figuring out what exactly they are doing currently, I am not sure how to do that.

i have already set up appropriate permissions. i'd just like to know who is logged in and sort of what they're accessing. mostly for fun's sake :)
